My favourite field of research is non-digital role-playing games (tabletop RPG and larp) in historical settings. Looking through the lens of transmedia narratology, I explore the structural and experiential aspects of role-played storyworlds and storytelling / story-enactment. Looking from the angle of heritage studies, I see playing and making historical RPGs as heritage practices. I am working on a book on historical RPG, larp and reenactment as vehicles for embodied immersion in heritage.
